The Parco archeologico del Colosseo sells its own tickets for the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. Our partner, a third party, sells tickets and tours that bundle a service with the entry, such as an audio guide or a live guide. This page puts the official prices first and then lists what each product of the partner adds. We read the official site and the Park’s Visitor Regulations on 23 October 2026, and prices can change.

How the official ticket works
One ticket covers three sites. The standard 24-hour ticket gives one entry to the Colosseum, with its first and second level and the terraces, and one entry to the Roman Forum and Palatine area, which also includes the Imperial Forums. The Colosseum entry has a compulsory time slot, while the Forum and Palatine area is open at a free time.
Every ticket is named. Each visitor enters their details, and at the entrance you must show the ticket together with an original ID document. If the name on the ticket does not match, entry is refused with no refund. The name can be changed once, up to 24:00 on the seventh day before the visit, for a clear typing error or the other cases listed in the Regulations. There is no refund and no change of date or time, except when the Park closes a site for calamities or on the order of the public safety authorities. A lost ticket cannot be duplicated or replaced.
Tickets are sold on ticketing.colosseo.it, by phone and at the ticket offices in Piazza del Colosseo and Largo della Salara Vecchia. Tickets bought at the ticket offices give access to the Colosseum only through the gate for individual visitors. Online sales open 30 days before the visit, although some official ticket pages say 7 days for the Arena and Commodus tickets, so check the official shop. You can buy up to 8 named tickets per online transaction.

24-hour ticket or Full Experience
The 24-hour ticket is the base visit: the Colosseum without the arena floor and the underground, the Roman Forum, the Roman Forum Museum, the Palatine and the Imperial Forums. The maximum stay in the Colosseum is 75 minutes. The SUPER sites of the Forum and Palatine, such as the Temple of Romulus, Santa Maria Antiqua, the Curia Iulia and the Palatine Museum, are not part of it: they need the Forum Pass SUPER or a 4 euro supplement.
The Full Experience tickets are valid for 2 consecutive days and add a part of the Colosseum that the base ticket does not open: the arena floor, the underground, the attic or the Commodus Passage. They also include the Forum and Palatine, and the maximum stay in the Colosseum is 90 minutes. Groups, times and lateness rules differ for each, and the Regulations give no tolerance for lateness with the Underground & Arena, Only Arena and Attic tickets.
Free days
Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month, on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November. You cannot book: you collect a ticket on the day, in order of arrival, at the ticket offices. These tickets do not give access to the arena, the underground, the upper levels or the SUPER sites, and the Forum Pass SUPER cannot be used on the first free Sunday. The next ones are Sunday 1 November, Wednesday 4 November, Sunday 6 December 2026 and Sunday 3 January 2027.
Online offers next to the official prices
Prices are the ones we saw on Tiqets on 23 October 2026. All the Colosseum products below are non-refundable, according to Tiqets. The Park’s page for operators speaks of selling tickets together with services they provide directly, and every Tiqets Colosseum product we found bundles one.
| Tiqets product | Official price | Tiqets price | What Tiqets says it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colosseum & Roman Forum + Audio Guide | 18 euros (24-hour ticket) | 37 euros | Entry to the Colosseum, the Palatine and the Roman Forum; an audio guide or a 25-minute video; instant delivery |
| Colosseum, Arena & Roman Forum + Audio Guide | 24 euros (Full Experience Arena) | 33.50 euros | Admission to the arena floor, the Colosseum, the Palatine and the Forum; an audio guide or a video |
| Colosseum & Roman Forum: Guided Tour | 18 euros, without a guide | 39 euros | A live guide in nine languages; the arena and the underground are not included |
| Colosseum, Arena & Roman Forum: Guided Tour | 24 euros, without a guide | 79 euros | Arena floor and a live guide in seven languages |
| Colosseum, Roman Forum & Mamertine Prison + Audio Guide | 18 euros (24-hour ticket) | 32 euros | The Colosseum, Palatine, Forum and the Mamertine Prison; the title mentions an audio guide, but the list of inclusions does not confirm it |
The Tiqets data we read does not say how the name and the time slot are handled on each product, so read the product page before you choose a date. The Park’s rules apply to every ticket.
The free audio guide
The Park offers a free app, MyColosseum, with interactive audio guides in Italian and English for the Colosseum, available in the underground, along the intermediate gallery and in the attic. A second app, Y&Co “You and Colosseo”, has audio and video guides in nine languages. We could not confirm whether audio guides can be hired at the site.
Which one to buy
For a self-guided visit, compare the official price for your date with the price and the inclusions of each Tiqets product. The Tiqets products are different from the official ticket: they add an audio guide or a live guide, the arena floor or a second site, and they have their own price and conditions. If you want to see the arena floor, the underground or the attic, read the official pages of the Full Experience tickets first.
The Colosseum opens at 8:30 and closes between 16:30 and 19:15 depending on the season: see the opening hours page. For the Forum and Palatine, see the Roman Forum tickets page, and for the cards of every Tiqets product see the Colosseum tickets page.
